Mini-Rack Storage Systems in Cape Town
Mini-Rack is a smaller version of pallet racking, built for stock that’s picked by hand rather than by forklift. It’s a cost effective bolted system that carries up to 4 tons per bay, with storage levels in steel shelves, wire mesh decks or timber.
What Is Mini-Rack Used For?
Mini-Rack suits bulky but light items, cartons, bins and slow moving stock. If standard shelving is too small for your products and pallet racking is more than you need, Mini-Rack is the answer in between. We fitted out a plastics warehouse with exactly this system, where versatility and cost mattered more than forklift access.
Mini-Rack Load Capacity
Heights run from 1800 to 3000 mm in 300 mm steps. Depths come in 450, 600, 750 or 900 mm, and lengths from 1200 to 2400 mm in 300 mm steps. Each bay carries up to 4 tons.
Mini-Rack FAQs
Is Mini-Rack cheaper than pallet racking?
Generally yes, for the loads it's designed to carry. Because Mini-Rack is a lighter bolted system without the heavy beams and frames that pallet racking needs, you get serious hand picking capacity at a lower cost per bay. When loads climb beyond about 4 tons per bay, pallet racking becomes the right tool.
What deck options does Mini-Rack come with?
You can choose steel shelves for a solid surface, wire mesh decks where airflow or sprinkler penetration matters (cold rooms and fire regulations often call for mesh), or timber decks as an economical general purpose option. We'll recommend the right deck for what you're storing when we quote.
